the BRIEF
The Battery Show Europe is an annual trade fair located at Messe Stuttgart in Stuttgart, Germany. More than 350 suppliers from around the world come to The Battery Show to get an up-close look at energy storage solutions, components, and equipment across the entire battery supply chain.
the CHALLENGE
Everyone will have high expectations for safe, healthy layouts and protocols post COVID-19, and attendees will be wary. The event producers wanted a friendly safety explainer video that would show prominently on the event home page to provide attendees and exhibitors the confidence that it would be safe for them to return to a live event. The delivery required both voice-over and titles, so viewing via social media where audio is muted by default.

the SOLUTION
A friendly, fast-paced animation style that incorporated the existing event branding. Working with the client to refine and clarify the script and source a professional voice over artist. Multiple music and voice-over artist samples were made available for the stakeholders to choose from. The same stakeholders were made part of the process via a few rounds of storyboards/style frames to get final approvals prior to animation. The process included character rigging and animation via Illustrator and After Effects.
